1. First of all click start, control panel, network connections.
2. Select, create a new connection.
3. Click next.
4. Select connect to the network at my workplace and click next.
5. Select virtual private network connection and click next.
6. Type in a name to identify the connection by e.g. 'work' or 'office' and click next.
7. Select do not dial the initial connection and click next.
8. Type in the host name or ip address for your connection and click next.
9. If you wish to add a shortcut for the connection to your desktop tick the checkbox.
10. Now select finish.
11. Type in your username and password. You will need to make sure that your user account has dial in permissions to the network you are connecting to.
12. If you want the username and password to be stored then tick the checkbox.
13. Then select whether you want it to be stored for just you or all users on the computer.
14. Now click connect. If the details that you entered are right and you have dial in permissions then the VPN will connect.
15. When connecting in the future you can double click on the desktop icon and click connect if your password is stored.
16. If you didn't save a desktop icon hen you can go to start, connect to and select the connection from the list.
